Gacha Games Compatibility

(Probably) handy document for some people

As more and more "gacha games" gets released throughout time, most developers of the said genre seems to forgot that almost 50% of their userbase are waiting for their next title with mobile devices incompatible to set in their requirements.

This is recently the ongoing situation regarding Zenless Zone Zero, HoYoverse's concurrent title recently released 5 days ago prior in writing this document. (02:46AM 7/9/24 UTC/GMT+8)

In modern-day sense, to play these titles as smooth as possible (like performance that PC provides), it's recommended to have a device with chipset Snapdragon 7/8 Gen X for most Android devices or Apple's recent Bionic or Pro chips, baked into their iPhones.

While, you can still run these gacha titles on phones with older chipsets. However, the performance won't be as optimal as it is on PC unless you flash a less-memory consuming ROM (AOSP, Modded android) or overclocking your phone. Heck, you can even run Genshin Impact on a god damn Nokia! nevermind that

While i try to be as accurate as possible with this compatibility list, do note that I'm currently filling this up based on experience by other people. You're also free to help!

Additional Documentation

When you can't install a gacha game from your application store, it usually means that your device is unsupported. While you can use an external source to download the game, the initial result on your attempt to launch an unsupported game will remain the same (unless developers of said games try to do optimizations to run better and add support for older chipsets.)

Before the official releases of their titles, the developers might've already put out the system requirements that's needed to run the game properly. These are system requirements officially recommended by them to ensure a smooth, optimal experience. Though if you can install the game, it means a green light, though the performance won't be probably stable.

When you're not sure if the game runs on your phone, search for "[chipset] [game] test (striked because it's sometimes not necessary)" (i.e "snapdragon 665 honkai star rail") on YouTube (if obviously the game is already out.) Use DevCheck (Android)/your iPhone model on Google/any search engine to search for what chipset your phone/iPhone has.
